Log Cabin Lady - Three Things Friday - My Goals for the end of 2020 - My vintage fabric

Three Things Friday – My goal to make 2020 end on a happy note!

Happy Friday! This week it’s been 5 months since we got the keys to our cabin! I can’t believe how fast these first months have gone by. We still aren’t as settled or done with all the things I thought we would be by now, like painting and unboxing, but last week I decided it will take as long as it takes. We have no plans on moving or selling any time soon, or ever, so if it takes me another year to repaint the kitchen then that’s how long it’s gonna take, although I really would like to paint it soon…hah!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about productivity and how to actually be productive without falling into a planning hole, something I’m awfully good at. A lot of the time I use planning as procrastination instead of actually doing the thing I’m planning, so I thought I would share the three things I really want to pursue in these few last months of 2020, partly to keep myself accountable so that I’ll actually do it.

Three Things Friday – We adopted a cat & garden ready for fall winter

Happy Friday! It’s been an exciting week in the log cabin and in the garden so let’s get right to this week’s Three Things Friday!
We adopted a cat! His name is Ozzy, he’s 8 almost 9 years old and is a beautiful grey house cat but looks almost exactly like a British Shorthair with his grey/blue fur and yellow eyes British Shorthair with his grey/blue fur and yellow eyes.
We had been wanting to get a cat ever since moving into our cabin since it’s great to have someone catch any potential mice in the house, but every time I saw an ad for a kitten it just didn’t feel right until one Saturday two weeks ago when I saw the ad for Ozzy.

Why I stopped buying fast fashion in 2020 – My 2020 goal

I love buying clothes, I don’t necessarily love fashion or even wearing all my clothes but I love to buy and own pretty clothing. Almost exactly a year ago I decided to finally quit my well paying job in Stockholm and by that also deciding to quit a lot of the bad habits I had started with during my years as an adult with an office job – the worst one was having online shopping as a hobby and buying tons of fast fashion.I’ve always been good with money, I love to save, but I also love to splurge when I know I can afford it. Having an office job after years of part time jobs or studying meant having a income every month and finally being able to treat myself to some nice clothes.I quickly fell in love with fast fashion brands like COS and & Other Stories and bought wool sweaters and silk shirts in every color.

Three Thing Friday – My 30+ favorite horror movies for October

October is finally here! I love October, there’s Halloween, fall is in full force and you can watch horror movies everyday without feeling weird!

I love watching horror, thrillers and anything mysterious and whenever I’m home alone my go to mode is having a horror movie marathon all by myself. Nowadays when I’m living in a cabin in the woods I love watching horror even more, although it’s happened a few times that I need to leave a lamp on when going to sleep…hah!

This Three Things Friday I thought I would share my favorite horror movies for October in three different categories, but since it was soooo hard to only choose 9 I also added in a little list with the rest of my favorite horror movies in no particular order.

Three Things Friday – Hygge fall things to cozy up my log cabin

If you haven’t noticed it already I love fall! So for this Three Things Friday I thought I would share the three hygge things that I’m doing to cozy up our tiny log cabin. If you aren’t familiar with the word Hygge it’s danish and has become a synonym with coziness and how to make your house and life more cozy, relaxed and happy. In Sweden we use the word “mysigt”, which is pretty much the same thing.
